REQUIREMENTS FOR AN INSTRUCTION PERMIT:

UNDER THE AGE OF 15 1/2 and signed up for the drivers education course:

  • Pre-apply online at http://www.dol.wa.gov, follow the steps. If you already have a Washington ID please skip this step
  • Call or bring in to Accurate Driving Academy the confirmation number received when you pre-applied 1-10 days before your course begins to go get your permit
  • Return to DOL office with the proper ID, confirmation number and parent or guardian
  • $25 Fee to DOL
  • Pass vision screening
  • Obtain Permit

15 1/2 but under the age of 18:

  • Pre-apply online at http://www.dol.wa.gov, follow the steps. If you already have a Washington ID please skip this step
  •  Bring photo ID and the confirmation number into Accurate Driving Academy to take the knowledge test. (Must pass with at least an 80%)
  • Return to DOL office with proper ID, confirmation number and parent or guardian
  • $25 Fee to DOL
  • Pass vision screening
  • Obtain Permit

Age of 18 and over knowledge test:

  • Pre-apply online at http://www.dol.wa.gov, follow the steps. If you already have a Washington ID please skip this step
  • Bring photo ID and the confirmation number into Accurate Driving Academy to take the knowledge test. (Must pass with at least 80%)
  • Return to DOL office with proper ID, and confirmation number
  • $25 fee to DOL
  • Pass vision screening

REQUIREMENTS FOR SKILLS TEST:

Skills Test for 18 Years of age and younger:

  • Schedule your skills test, bring your confirmation number, and photo ID when you come to Accurate Driving Academy
  • To obtain a license you must have completed the following
    • Pass Traffic Safety Course
    • Had your permit for 6 months
    • Be the age of 16 yr or older
    • 50 Hours of supervised practice done
    • Passed the knowledge test
    • $89 fee to DOL

Age of 18 and over:

  • Must have passed a knowledge exam
  • Bring your confirmation number and photo ID when you come to Accurate Driving Academy
  • Take the skills test
  • Return to DOL office with proper ID, and confirmation number
  • $89 fee to DOL
